DISNEY WORLD DAY ONE – MAGIC KINGDOM

Spent Sunday night with Janet, Kirk and Gus setting up our FASTPASS+ which allows for visitors to prebook up to 3 rides at a time for “skip the line” access to rides. Super intelligent system, tough to navigate at first but once we got the hang of it, we saved hours of lineups!  Set up Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain.  Okay, lets see if this works.

To set up FASTPASS+, the Disney app gets downloaded to your phone,  account is activated, guests are imputed and pass numbers get linked to the individual guests.  Abel didn’t need  a pass, under 3 are free!  Open the app, choose the day (can be done up to 60 days in advance) pick the park and all of the most popular rides populate.  Chose the ride and the hour window you want to attend.  All you do is show up and enter the short line, not making any eye contact with the suckers who have been waiting patiently.  Rejoice Millennials, your smart phone savviness pays dividends exploring Disney World!  Now that I have it all figured out, the rest of this week should be a breeze.

FASTPASS+ TIP as soon as you exit your ride, turn on the app and refresh until you get a ride and time slot you like, they change rapidly.  Take into considration the part of the park your at and where you want to go. Fighting the mobs to get somewhere can take a long time.

Afternoon Parade!

Woke up early, jumped in the 7 seater Chevey Traverse I rented and off to the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!  Parked in the lot, “cast members” everywhere to help you park and get  you where your going.  Took a picture of the rentals license plate and “Simba 115” where we parked.  Jumped on the Monorail, next stop Magic Kingdom!  Great weather, 70s and a little rain to keep us albino Canadians cool.

Entering Magic Kingdom

Kaitlyn, Janet and mom did the Splash Mountain first while Abel and I waited for them to finish, they only waited 12 min in line! Then Kait, Janet and I did Thunder Mountain.  Im realizing as I write, no one reading this cares the order or who went on what rides so, the rest of the day we did…

-Pirates of the Caribbean

-Crazy Teacups

-Space Mountain

-Winnie the Pooh

-Aladdins Flying Carpets

-Speedway

2pm Concert at the Cinderella Castle

Caught the Afternoon Parade through the park, bought Lightsabers and ate lunch at Tomorrow land (cream cheese filled pretzel, yummy). Saw an amazing performance with music, dancing and even fireworks in front of the Cinderella Castle at 2pm.  Wish I had a picture of Kaitlyns face during the Cinderella Castle Concert, she saw so many Disney Characters!!!  Amazing day, can’t say thank you enough to my parents for inviting us to join them in Orlando.  Even though the kids won’t remember it, we sure will!  Tomorrow off to Hollywood Studios. AEROSMITH ROLLER COASTER, TOWER OF TERROR and INDIANA JONES all set up for the FASTPASS+ in the morning. ROCK and ROLL, I’m off to the Hottub 🙂

GO JETS GO!
