Jan 28 – we cheated. Docked at a gorgeous Caribbean Island and didnโt even get off the ship. Most sailors got off to hit the beach, which allowed for an awesome experience – exploring on board. We spent the day strutting the decks – mimicking Mick Jagger, chilled like Bob Marley on our exclusive rockstar balcony ๐ even soaked up some sun like Tom Pettys Wildflowers in our โback stage passes onlyโ rooftop VIP lounge. We spent the day getting to know our Valiant Lady ๐ธ โ๏ธ ๐น

Amazing morning just soaking it all inโฆ waffles, spicy candied bacon and eggs for breakfast. Nigiri, poke bowls and little tasty sandwich thingies for lunch on Richardโs Rooftop (we called it Dicks Deck). As Rockstars we had exclusive access to the forward portion of deck 16. Janet and I were the only two there for the majority of the morning ๐ค๐ bartender Maurine from Manila and Dock hand Dian from South Africa took extra good care of us! We enjoyed the surrounding views of the gorgeous islands, ate some unbelievable – not too heavy lunch, put back a couple Blended sangrias. We then proceeded to FaceTime Winnipeg to show off the digs!
Spent the afternoon looking for a milkshake, which we found in the game room. Played some air hockey and shuffleboard, even hit the FREE arcade! Spent the late afternoon hanging out on our balcony and waited for dinner. Our island bound crew made it back on board and we all met for dinner at the steakhouse called The Wake. I had lamb, Janet had beef tenderloin but the star of the show was the clam chowder ๐๐๐ ask anyone, it was a special dish!

Watched castoff from our aft balcony, sailed past (and stopped in front of) Sir Richard Bransons private island called โNecker Islandโ. For those unaware Virgin Voyages is owned by English Billionaire Sir Richard Branson. Posh looking island, they had a fire ๐ฅ cooking on a sand bar, one of our crew swears he saw Richard Branson on a little dingy coming towards the ship to say hello (I think Dave liked the rum on Tortola ๐ )
The evening wound down, we hit the casino for a couple spins on the roulette wheel, then off to bed. Tomorrowโs island is Guadalupe, apparently an island with some of the nicest beaches around the world. Shark ๐ฆ diving was a major tourist attraction here, but to Gauthier and my dismay (and Janetโs delight) it was very recently banned ๐ we were ready to get in the cage and meet a great white!
To be continuedโฆ next Jan 29 Pointe a Pitre, Guadalupe
