Good morning – what a lovely week to turn 12. It’s not often that a special girl like you turns 12 – Dad is going to make this week really exciting.
Get in the truck and let’s go to the USA 🇺🇸! It’s a 1.5 hour drive from home to the border – we will be leaving Canada 🇨🇦. Tonight we are staying in a town called Fargo, it’s 3 hours total drive, and we will decide what to do when we get there.
Tomorrow we drive to our hotel in Minneapolis (4 more hours). The total drive is 7-8 hours long, we will stop for snacks, food, clothes shopping and pictures 😆😆😆
Monday at 2pm we will be pulling over to watch the Solar Eclipse! I got us special glasses 🤓 so we can look up at the Eclipse without it hurting our eyes. If you want to learn more about what a solar eclipse is, check Google.

We’ll stop at a mall to do some clothes shopping – then check into a hotel 🏨 in a city called Minneapolis. The hotel is named “Best Western” – they have some comfy beds for us that night. We sleep there on April 8.
In the morning we wake up and eat a tasty breakfast 🧇 get on a shuttle 🚌 and head to the airport ✈️ (the truck stays at the hotel) 😆 It’s only a 10 min drive from the hotel to the airport.
At 9am on April 9 we leave Minneapolis on an airplane – we’re flying to to a city called Nashville 🪕 🤠 It’s a 2 hour flight and we arrive at 11am.
Once our plane lands we take a taxi to our hotel called “Embassy Suites” which is right in the middle of downtown Nashville, a great place for us to sleep after we explore and go to a Jets Game! We’re sleeping here for 2 nights 😴
I’ve purchased us 2 tickets for the Jets game in Nashville – the jets 🛩️ play the Nashville Predators 😺. At the game we are sitting with Uncle Paul and Auntie Nono and some other crazy Winnipegers. We are wearing white Jets Jerseys but everyone else in the arena will be wearing yellow cheering for the other team 😹😹😹. The game starts at 7pm on April 9 (Tuesday) and should end about 10pm.
April 9 is going to be a blast, that day we will have taken a plane to Nashville, got to our fancy hotel and went to a Jets game!
The next day we wake up and eat a tasty breakfast 🥞 🍳 🥓 and have all day to explore the area, the weather is supposed to be super nice ☀️. I hope we can enjoy some live music somewhere, Nashville is also called “Music City” so I think we should be able to find a concert. It won’t be a huge concert – like Elton John – but we should find something pretty cool. People in Nashville really enjoy Country Music 🤠
On April 11 at 10:30am we fly back to Minneapolis and get in the truck. We drive for 7 hours back to Winnipeg, we should be home by bedtime (we’ll stop for some tasty food on the way) 🍔
Happy Birthday, this should be a really great one… the bummer is you miss 4 days of school 😭😭😭
