***What an amazing voyage so far 🤩:
– Vessel extraordinary
– The Crew (especially Kimberly our Rockstar Agent) just phenomenal
– Food all delicious
– Islands 🏝️ breathtaking
– Calm seas and very little rain
– Family (and Lucky 🍀) all doing well at home
Scarlet 💋 night was epic – we’d sailed past Sir Richard Bransons Island – Janet went on a heater at the roulette wheel 💰 – swam under waterfalls – watched the Valiant Lady dock in San Juan.
Even the caliber of company was top shelf – travelling with Paul Gauthier and his longtime girlfriend Emily 💃🏼 🕺 what a voyage!!!
Ship couldn’t get any better 😎 at least that’s what we thought.
A lot people know Paul Gauthier… I think by at point of the cruise 2000+ passengers of the Valiant Lady knew Paul Gauthier 📢 (or at least Cousin Clyde). Paul and Em are very outgoing and just a blast to travel with. Paul and Emily’ parents were also on the cruise (all wonderful people)
Well, Paul Gauthier had a secret… and until Scarlet 💋 night only Emily’s parents were privy… On Scarlet night Paul pulled me aside and I got to hear Paul’s secret. My romantic, extravagant and over-the-top buddy Paul Gauthier brought a 💍 onboard!
He explained (nervously) the days failed plan to ask for Emily’s hand in marriage. Plan was to pop the question – with Janet and I as witnesses and photographers – during our (cancelled) shore excursion to Jade Mountain 😬. The plan had fallen through, they cancelled the excursion. Paul had a problem and needed to ask for some help – he wanted this to be very special for Emily, she’s a very special girl.
Some say : everything happens for a reason
Klobb, Janet and Sheer Rocks to the rescue 🛟 We invited Paul and Emily along to our Sunset Experience on Antigua. We would enjoy a unique and memorable dining experience – Paul could pop the question sometime during our private dinner – situated over the cliffs on the west side of a most picturesque island during a Caribbean Sunset 🌅
🥰🥰🥰
Feb 1 – Woke up in St. John’s, Antigua a little foggy from Scarlet night, cupids bow and arrows beside my bed 😎💘 Lol Janet and I literally woke up smiling and feeling goofy excited to be a part of a really big day. I texted my Sheer Rocks connection – Samantha. Her communication was awesome and they were happy to accommodate our now-party of 4. She’s reminded me – “Everything happens for a reason” – she had faith in the property she managed would provide the best engagement spot 🙌
We didn’t have any day plans, again enjoyed using the ship, Janet did a spa treatment and we just chilled on Richard’s rooftop, gleefully waiting for the evening. Paul and Emily went on a kayak excursion or something (According to Em – Paul played it cool all day 👏👏👏) we planned to meet them on the Gangplank at 4:45pm – it was a 30 minute drive to our Sheer Rocks Sunset Experience.

Walked through the resort to our table – beside our private Rocks plunge pool. Ordered drinks and Janet exclaims “wow that’s quite a sunset, Emily, will you take our picture?” Emily took some very lovely pictures of Janet and myself – from a vantage point she obviously thought was 🙌 (noted location that Emily likes)

“Paul, you should really get up there and let us take your picture”

Pauls knees were shaking, but he did it! Don’t think he actually said the words, but for sure mouthed them. She said “yes”, nonetheless. He looked at Janet and I, holding the ring, like he just received an award. I had to remind him to put the ring on the bride 😂 Best part he was able to get back to his feet 🤣 (what’s a buddy for if he can’t get a couple shots in).
The sheer rocks staff came down with champagne, shots and treats. We ate, drank and enjoyed the sunset. Think Emily said “Oh My God” 87 times, at least. My Janet looked elated, glowing as the feels around the table were contagious. Paul was with us in 2008 when Janet and I were engaged.
Got our swim trunks on and Jumped in the plunge pool 🩳 👙

Dried off, our driver Kenny Rodgers picked us up, his wife came for the ride. Back on the ship, went up to our rooms – Promptly texted our rockstar agent Kimberly to have eight champagne flutes sent up to our suite, invited the parents up and the newly engaged got to share the big news on our terrace 😝

Congratulations to Paul and Emily! Emily, you said yes to a life time of 👇😬

Tomorrow is the only day “Sea Day” of the Voyage, as we sail back to San Juan. Sea days are cool 😎. To be continued…
